Cyber Enforcement Resources Incorporated
announces the release of the School Violence Watch Network, a free Internet based service
that assists in the mission of keeping schools safe.
The School Violence Watch Network (SVWN) is a comprehensive web-based
communication system and information exchange repository that was
created to assist school administrators, teachers and law enforcement
officials quickly and efficiently deal with threats and rumors of violence in
schools. The SVWN can potentially reduce or prevent violent
activities that threaten students and educators worldwide.
The SVWN enables teachers and school administrators to collaborate
online within their own or other school districts to take proactive steps
in preventing violence from occurring within their schools - all with a
degree of anonymity. Threats and rumors of violence may be easily
stored in central database for determination of threat severity, trend
analysis, or historical review. Additionally, the member school or
organization may enable the ability for threats to be anonymously reported by
their own students using the Students Who Care reporting system.
Working in conjunction with the School Violence Watch network, the Students
Who Care reporting system enables schools to empower their students in the proactive
mission to prevent school violence. Students Who Care enables students to anonymously
and easily report rumors or threats of violence, bullying, drug abuse, or
other threatening activities they become aware of to officials and
concerned administrators within their own school district or community.
Using Students Who Care, teachers, principals, school safety
officers, members of a "crisis response team," all may be
the "first to know" and have time to respond before violence has the
opportunity to occur.
We believe that students are the key to helping prevent school
violence. Often, students will not come forward to report a possible
threat of violence out of fear of mockery or reprisal. Students Who Care will
allow them the anonymity they desire all the while enabling them to
make a difference that truly counts. Schools may use Students
Who Care within school property just as easily as having students
make reports from the privacy of their homes.
We invite the participation of all levels of education.
