A comprehensive web based communication system and information exchange
repository that was created to assist school administrators, teachers
and law enforcement officials quickly and efficiently deal with
threats and rumors of violence, bullying, or drug abuse occurring
within schools. The system enables schools to empower their students
in the mission in the prevention of school violence. Violence and threats
to our schools can be significantly reduced or prevented using this system.
Early Warning Timely Response: A Guide to Safe Schools -
Guide developed by the Department of Education and Department of Justice
to help school personnel, parents, community members and others identify
early indicators of troubling and potentially dangerous student behavior.

Department of Education.
Safe & Drug Free Schools Program -
The Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program is the Federal government's primary
vehicle for reducing drug, alcohol and tobacco use, and violence, through
education and prevention activities in our nation's schools. This program
is designed to prevent violence in and around schools, and strengthen
programs that prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs,
involve parents, and are coordinated with related Federal, State and
community efforts and resources.
Federal Activities Addressing Violence in Schools -
The inventory of federal activities addressing violence in schools
was created through the collaborative effort of many federal agencies
and offices. It is designed to facilitate the coordination of federal
school violence prevention activities and enhance collaboration on future projects.

The Center for Mental Health Services' Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN)
(English, Spanish) is an award-winning government Web site that offers a
wealth of information about mental health. Visitors can order free
publications online, search KEN's referral database, read the latest mental
health news, and explore links on a variety of mental health-related topics
including attachment disorder, disabilities, children's health, depression,
substance abuse, anxiety, family issues, support groups, and treatment.
School Safety Report Card -
This national awareness initiative for all stakeholders in our schools and
communities gives you a voice to express your concerns about school safety.
School Safety Awareness is a major force to significantly reduce and prevent
school safety problems (violence, suicide, drugs, guns, gangs, physical and
psychological security including bullying, and other dysfunctional behaviors).
